Pros

Decent pay and good benefits. some teams seemed to have very good work life balance.

Cons

Prepare to be heavily micro-managed. Some managers are breathing down your neck constantly. Completely stuck in the past managing people like its 1995. You are expected to just run around asking senior engineers questions to learn anything.

Pros

Management/C-suite consistently engages with employees. There is a strong focus on the future and the company provides employees learning opportunities. The starting wages are relatively competitive for my area. The projects I am working on have been rewarding and enjoyable.

Cons

Employee perks/benefits/pay shrink year-over-year. This is due to salary increases being outpaced by inflation, increases in insurance being passed on, and pto benefits being capped and not paid out. When management is given a tough question, it seems to be side-stepped with a "pc" answer.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Developing and engaging our people is an important principle for us — not just to help individuals grow, but because it directly strengthens how we win as a team. We’re glad to hear you’ve found your projects rewarding and have seen opportunities to learn and contribute. We also appreciate your feedback around pay, benefits, and transparency. We continually assess our compensation and benefits to ensure they are aligned with current market standards. For more insight into how salary increases are evaluated, we recommend watching the July 2025 Fireside Chat with our CHRO, where she walks through our approach. You can find it on our Intranet page. If there’s more you’d like to share, feel free to connect with us at mks.feedback@mksinst.com or through our internal Digital Dialogue platform.
