Pros

The new office refit is great and the location is unbeatable if you live on the north shore. A genuine kiwi company that really does have ethical values.

Cons

Senior leadership are lacklustre, bullied by a CEO who should be an analyst. He has no leadership qualities whatsoever. ‘Agile’ structure must be loved despite it having destroyed the culture and fabric that originally made The Warehouse a success. The structure concentrate's power into a very few key roles which make career progress almost impossible. Easy place to work but could be so much better.

Pros

Some of the team are great. Free parking Office location Gym

Cons

They way people are treated by management is pretty appalling. The process in which rem is reviewed is meant to be based on the idea of a 'contribution model' but they change the rules and eligibility every year to dodge paying people. Workload is acknowledged by senior managers as being too high but and "we are working to manage it" but there is quite literally never any reprieve. There is no acknowledgement that years of removing headcount and losing talent has left the business broken.

Toxic culture

Pros

15% off staff discount in some items

Cons

Agile methodology - not agile in real life. Most of people has 20 years + in the business and not willing to change anything. Toxic leadership, CEO doesn’t care about people. No salary increases at all - unless you’re promoted under their “Contribution model” - which would normally take you 2-3 years Favouritism in teams, poor leadership, high rotation for skilled people and mentors. 2 days WFH if you work in Head Office.
