Pros

It was a real privilege to work with some of the most positive, professional and insightful people I have ever met. When I joined every person who I spoke to about Kiwibank had something positive to say about either what it was like to be a customer, or to work there - without exception. There was a great personal and professional approach to their leadership style, if you struck the right leader.

Another example: we don't have heroes; we're a team, yet heroes were praised regularly while many others beavered just as busily as the one that got the praise. I saw some loyal, passionate and capable people get broken. Pros

Salary was above average. When I started, for a short time, it was very pleasent to work there, that was before the new CEO came on board and the frequency of restructures increase 4 fold.

Cons

Really toxic culture throughout the organisation, its unusual because its not just isolated to certain managers or departments. Management is completely divorced from the running of the bank, they're more interested in what their new position will be in the latest restructure instead of what their reports are doing. I don't blame them as they might start as the manager of one team and 3 months later be managing an entirely different team after one of the restructures completes, its like musical chairs...but you can't stabilise any IT system under those circumstances.
