      Pros

      Great people at Lightspeed and overall solid benefits for the Auckland, NZ office. We enjoy flexible working, a dog-friendly office, plenty of healthy food options and barista coffee machine, an award-winning office next to great public transport links. In addition employees have 4% matched Kiwisaver, opportunities to get involved in our Employee-Led Networks and our Culture Clubs, a paid Volunteer day, Health & Wellness credit, access to EAP and Modern Health for coaching and self-learning. We also have regular career conversations, annual and mid-year performance review convos and an annual compensation review. Lightspeed's CEO is an inspired world-known conservationist who genuinely cares about our customers, and the mindset is one of customer-centricity and working together to problem solve and make a positive impact. We get to take on interesting challenges and work with global teams. There are super talented, creative and disciplined folks at Lightspeed making the culture one of success but also enjoyment along the way.

      It's fast paced so sustaining the high performance can be a challenge!

      Cons

      Promotions here seem to be based more on visibility than on technical ability. There’s little attention given to individual contributors, compensation, or role clarity, and the criteria for advancement often feel inconsistent and unfair.
