Pros

Frequent social events Healthcare package Thursday drinks (not Friday for some reason)

Cons

A company that values profit over people. Cruel treatment of employers during a restructure. Ranked everyone based on profitability then had an official Firing Day where they laid off 20-30% of staff in a callous and humiliating manner. Staff were told that anyone who recieves a meeting on Firing Day will be told to get out by tomorrow, while those who make it to the end of the day would be "safe". Senior Management (comprised of entirely apathetic white men) showed zero compassion and labelled people losing their jobs as "right-sizing". They are now gaslighting employees to stay with the company despite no pay increases until 2022. Performance reviews are a snitch-based model. The company sends out the employee's name and photo and asks everyone to give their opinion on the person, which is a bit dehumanising. Wouldn't consider joining as there is a long-term pay freeze and the company is literally hemorrhaging money given the global situation with cinemas. It will take many more years for them to recover.

Execs are mediocre, culture is toxic

Pros

Good benefits Many great and intelligent people in the teams Lots of social clubs and activities

Cons

- Execs at the top not qualified nor trained for their positions - Some execs talk badly about people in front of others and appear to enjoy doing so - Workplace bullying and discrimination is common - even from members of the HR team (appalling). - A culture where those who know how to “play the game” but achieve little go further than those who work hard and deserve promotion - Many people under way too much pressure, and when they ask for help are ignored

Was good....

Pros

Was once a great place to work Most staff where great to work with and had some fun social events.

Cons

Provided almost no support to staff they let go during the COVID 19 pandemic restructuring. I can safely guarantee that they have absolutely no idea how many employees they laid off are struggling to find work. And since they have been hiring again they haven’t had any intention in bringing back some of the former employee despite departing on good terms. It was pretty hard to get training or assistance with career goals. Most training and skill development was scratched together for each development team with little consistency. Even planning software and test management applications was different between teams. They really lacked standards for test practices and needed someone in a senior position for QA or a QA equivalent for an architect or product director. This might give some good career development paths for testers and make better software faster.
