The company is led by CFO who rules with iron fist controlling costs and focusing on short term EBITDA above all else. Recent article I read sums up many of the issues (translated headline) "Software AG shares: Expensive boards, questionable stock option program, lame growth" The company doesn't listen to customers and address their concerns. They aren't responsive to market trends such as Cloud, IoT, BigData, etc. They are years behind on any new market trends and innovations. They also do not value employees. Employees are viewed as replaceable, interchangeable. They don't see value in the employee-customer relationship either. Customers are very frustrated by the high turnover and lack of stable customer facing teams. They cut R&D in arbitrary ways, don't give new products time to get traction in the market before cutting them. The focus on margins simply doesn't allow for investment at a level that will bring competitive and innovative products to market. Until current CFO departs, unlikely to see change. His contract was renewed recently until 2021.

"Utterly Unprofessional" Zero learning , zero technical growth, actually you feel degraded after spending some time here, People who are stuck here are just because they have got rusted and cant find a job outside. To summarize in one line : "The worst mistake of my life."
