Pros

1. People are chilled out and fun. 2. Some teams are good. Gym is good.

Cons

1. Finance policies are exploitative (As an IITian who resigned from the company after working for 3 years, I had to pay back 10 lakh rupees) 2. RB payout date is in July end even though people complete their 1 or 2 year in June. This is designed specifically to exploit people leaving for higher studies 3. Building looks like an old hospital 4. Food is really sub-par and full of insects 5. There is no research here. Only sub-standard work. 6. Higher management is filled with extremely mediocre people who do not have any background in research 7. Employee is treated like an unskilled slave laborer. 8. Gender ratio is messed up. Women are discriminated against on an hourly basis. 9. Lack of corporate resources. Focus is on cost-cutting instead of procuring PCs/licenses 10. Korean counterparts treat Indians like slaves. 11. Work-hours are a pain. On an average you have to complete 9 hours daily. 12. No work from home in this day and age 13. Company is paranoid around security. Security guards treat you like thieves. 14. Work-culture is terrible. Work is not distributed properly throughout the year. Sometimes the deadlines are inhumane. 15. Zero focus on skill development. Work is just assigned randomly. 16. Entry to tech park is extremely dangerous. Many accidents waiting to happen.

Pros

Decent pay. will get usual salary raise as Android is doing good and Samsung even though other companies don't. It's like a Govt. job setup so you can keep slacking off if you want to be happy with average rating and raise. Most of the managers and oldies who decided to stick with this company as retirement plans so you can get away with your own incompetence. Koreans have a factory mentality in general so you don't have to innovate. Just show your hours and your arse on the desk and you will be considered a "good engineer".

Cons

Horrible work-life balance. God forbid if you work directly under Koreans. Korea trips are dreaded. Salary and compensation distributions are often used as strong arming tactics towards employees and force/trick them into staying in the company using these means. Most of your salary raise will be moved to bonuses to be given at the end of year and those bonuses in turn will turn into variable pay so basically your fixed raise becomes variable bonus. Koreans want innovations and they think it can be done like a factory floor. Filed 5 guys and you'll have 5 innovations an hour and then put 10 guys for 5 hours you will have 50 innovations. They also think that you can keep these engineers sharp and competent just making them pass in tests even though all they do is testing(mostly) and bug fixing. HR and General Affairs(admin) constantly try their best to come up with policies and rules to screw employees and their benefits. Be it fixing Korea per diem to $50(and paying $75 directly to hotels which was earlier $30-$40 and still other companies pay that less itself) or whether taking away extra leaves one by one. Work from home is not there and will never be. It's a school/factory like setup. You've to come between defined hours. Slight delay and you are fined half day leave. You are supposed finish minimum 9 hours everyday but usually you'll have to finish 11 hours everyday or so. So, when you clock 8 hrs 58 mins it's a half day leave but if you clock 15 hrs(which is not seldom) it doesn't count. You get nth extra for it. There are no Samsung product discounts. The recent one they have planned is a sham! Trust? As an Indian Samsung employee you are not trusted at all. None. Nada. Whether it's some Indian VP or a lowly software engineer, Koreans treat you as their absolute sub-ordinates and you are supposed to obey them without asking questions.
