Pros

The people are what make it amazing, and opportunities for growth and development are always available! Being a mum, NZ Post really took care of me and my family, which in turn motivated me to work harder :)

Cons

Leaving was probably the hardest!

Pros

Opex’s work culture is extremely relaxed, and some older employees seem to continue operating in a long ‘honeymoon period.

Cons

In my experience, there were clear instances of discriminatory behavior from certain managers and senior staff, particularly towards employees of specific ethnic background. New people—especially new architects—were often dismissed, and their ideas were not taken seriously or given any meaningful consideration. This created an environment where fresh thinking was actively resisted rather than encouraged. A number of senior technical managers lacked the capability and leadership required for their roles. The DNT and long-standing management teams repeatedly failed to make informed decisions, and their inability to provide strong technical direction had a direct impact on team performance and growth. Communication from DNT management was inconsistent and frequently unprofessional. Employee feedback was routinely ignored or shut down, leaving no real pathway for improvement or collaboration.
