Smart work flexibility, stagnant growth - Software Engineer NTT DATA Employee Review

Pros

Smart working (1 day/week in the office required at the moment)

Cons

Only able to perform work from home in the country of employment. It's fairly ok in the first 2.5 years (apprenticeship as it implies less taxes for the employer). Afterwards, the growth stagnates dramatically. Current inflation doesn't help. Coworkers may happen to be nice and smart, not necessarily always the case. Lack of respect for employees which have worked in the company for years by giving them empty promises of generic "growth" trajectory that never happen. Eventually people get tired. Really no need to lie.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.
