This Company Views Employees as Disposable.

Pros

The only real asset is that our technology is truly cutting-edge, and our customers recognize its value.

Cons

Despite what may look good from the outside, this company treats its employees like slaves, demanding excessive sacrifice for minimal return. 1. Unfair Compensation and Excessive Workload Compensation: Salaries are ridiculously low, and equity is practically non-existent. This clearly shows the company has no intention of providing fair compensation for the work done. Workload: Quotas are abnormally high, and the workload is not properly distributed. The resulting excessive burden and responsibility placed on individuals make it nearly impossible for employees with families to fulfill their domestic obligations. 2. Efforts Are Not Rewarded: Working hard and achieving good performance makes no difference. We are simply expected to continue performing like slaves, with no real expectation of appropriate rewards or advancement. 3. Lack of Organizational Structure and Role Clarity: The internal organization is poorly structured, making it difficult to ascertain the exact position and responsibilities (R and R) of the people we interact with. The blanket term 'GTM' seems intended to make employees work across all boundaries (Sales, Marketing, etc.) without having to properly compensate them for the expanded scope. 4. Untrustworthy Leadership: Leadership constantly tells compelling stories but never honors the promises made to either the employees or the customers. Growth based on mutual trust is impossible here. The culture here is one where dissent is met with the ultimatum: 'If you don't like it, then leave.' More disturbingly, this often escalates into the reality of 'We will force you out'‘, with threats and actual termination actions being a common occurrence This company intends to consume and burn you out as a disposable resource, not grow with you. I strongly recommend seeking out other opportunities. I plan to escape as soon as a good chance arises.

Pros

Great product, salary above average.

Cons

Awfully immature leadership. Hours are long with little reward or recognition. Leadership thinks being part of ElevenLabs is a reward on itself, so don't you dare ask for extra shares or any kind of reward for exceeding your targets, this is a startup. The culture is terrible. All remote team with siloed communication. ElevenLabs operates on need to know basis, so it's extra difficult to properly sell. The team is either over hyped or disgusted at what is going on. People are summarily dismissed with no warning or conversation with the rest of the team. No career growth unless leadership likes you. Leadership likes you if you agree with them and work 70 hours a week.

Pros

AI first company high innovation Responsibility and growth are there for the taking

Cons

Very immature leadership - one is trying to gloss over any and all employee concerns with "just work harder - that's how we win". The other does not care about humans whatsoever - all product all the time. If you don't like it then leave. The culture is "when in doubt, fire the person" - margin for error or professional growth is nonexistent. Everything that is slightly contrary to the "everything is great" narrative is quickly shut down, hidden and removed. This goes for employee concerns about comp, discussions about competition in the market, and even down to the HR team reading glassdoor reviews (hi there!) and asking employees to post good reviews. Never bring up any hint of work life balance - even the discussion about haveing a personal life is frowned upon.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share this review. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at ElevenLabs didn’t reflect the culture we aim to build. Feedback from former employees is incredibly valuable, as it helps us understand where things may have fallen short and how we can continue to mature as an organisation. The concerns you’ve raised around leadership, communication, and work–life balance are taken seriously. We are committed to fostering an environment where people feel supported, listened to, and able to develop - and it’s clear from your comments that we didn’t always meet that bar in your case. While we can’t change your past experience, we can learn from it. As we scale, we’re continually working on strengthening our culture, processes, and leadership practices to ensure the team feels empowered and heard. If you’d ever be open to sharing more context privately, we’d appreciate the opportunity to learn from your perspective. In any case, we sincerely thank you for the time you spent with us and wish you all the best in your future roles. Best wishes, Milly, People Success
