Pros

Great people to work with A large variety of clients and projects Catch-up over beers every fortnight at the office Nice central office and fabulous yearly conference. Unfortunately a big let down is outdated, old-school management and culture

Cons

As a lot of other people have mentioned, there is a disconnect in how you are rewarded. Assurity pays below market, period. Any attempt to bring this up for review will be shot down. What you were hired to do, and what you end up doing is very different. At times I believe Assurity is more concerned about placing bums on seats than the well being of their staff. Very hard to progress in your career, Assurity prefers to hire externally before promoting internally. Do your research if you are thinking about joining Assurity.

Pros

1) If you are planning to immigrate to New Zealand it is worth trying to get an employment offer from Assurity Consulting as they are one of the accredited employers. I believe they will organize work visas, flight tickets, initial temporary accommodation, etc. They even come to the airport to pick you up when you land in New Zealand. 2) Your experience will largely depend on which client you are working with. Some clients have a good work environment and some of their clients have a toxic work environment. Please remember you will be working on-site in the client location especially if you are providing software testing services. Please remember Assurity Consulting does not have control or influence over the work environment in the client location. 3) Overall I found Assurity Consulting to be supportive and caring about their employees.

Cons

1) I was assigned to work on-site for a client who is a large gambling and entertainment company. Bullying, cronyism, gaslighting, blame culture, scapegoating and nepotism were prevalent in this client. I meet some incompetent and toxic people in managerial roles in this client. I encountered some unethical practices which made me uncomfortable working for this client. It was an absolute nightmare experience working for this client. I reported my observations working for this client to Assurity Consulting and they were caring and supportive. I had heard about a similar bad experience from other colleagues who had worked for another client who was a large shared IT services provider in the public health sector. 2) They don't have large customers with long-term project engagements. 3) Salary was not increased even after one year because the company was not performing well. 4) They had to lay off some staff due to the impact on their business because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
