Leading the way in diversity! We’re delighted to have been named as a Diversity Leader 2021! This recognition comes as a result of a detailed study conducted jointly by the Financial Times and Statista. Together they analyzed employee feedback from 15,000 companies across 16 European countries, and found us to have one of the most positive scores on the topic of diversity and inclusion!
Thriving on responsibility. Mirella Silva is the Regional Finance Deployment Coordinator for the LATAM Region at Henkel Brazil. She’s responsible for local, regional and global projects that focus on digital transformation and process optimization. What she loves about the job are the different challenges it brings: “Working in such a dynamic department means every day is an opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skills”, she says.

Henkel takes The Climate Pledge. Henkel has reinforced its commitment to climate protection by joining “The Climate Pledge,” an international cross-industry commitment jointly agreed upon by Amazon and Global Optimism. Its objective? To achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions ten years ahead of the UN Paris Agreement’s 2050 target, so that Henkel can become a climate-positive company by 2040.

As a Microbiologist at the Beauty Care R&D Laboratory in Stamford, Connecticut, Marilena makes sure brands like Dial, Got2b and Schwarzkopf USA achieve the highest quality and safety standards. “Knowing that my work helps millions of people across the world safely use Henkel’s products gives me a great feeling of pride and satisfaction”, she says.
Henkel joins U.S. Plastics Pact. Henkel North America has joined the U.S. Plastics Pact to accelerate the drive to the circular economy. Under the terms of this collaborative initiative, Henkel has committed to making all plastic packaging 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025.
Nature Box gets natural brand certification. Nature Box is now an officially-certified natural cosmetics brand. Only brands with a high proportion of natural ingredients and sustainable packaging get to carry the ECOCERT label. In September 2020, Nature Box – whose bottles are made of 98% social plastic – became part of this exclusive club too.
Henkel hosts 2nd hackathon for female entrepreneurs. Henkel’s open innovation and collaboration platform, Henkel dx Ventures, is hosting its second Xathon, a female ideation hackathon. Its goal is to advocate female entrepreneurship, promote innovative ideas and drive gender diversity in the start-up and tech scene. 60 female talents will get the chance to participate in this year’s event, which is taking place virtually.
Taking the trail to the top. Hajime joined Henkel Japan in 1992 as a Product Development Chemist and has risen all the way to lead the Japan General Manufacturing & Maintenance business team. In 27 years with Henkel, he’s worked in four different functions for two different divisions and in two different countries. “My advice to colleagues is to always stay open to change and continue to grow!”, he says.
