Open Polytechnic delivers Initial Teacher Education programmes online through a partnership school model.
We are seeking Adjuncts (contractors) in Christchurch, Nelson, West Coast, and Waikato regions to assess learner work and support the following programmes:

Daytime availability is required, so this work may suit retired or part-time teachers.

Mark learner assessments electronically using the Online Marking tool, applying marking schedules consistently and providing feedback that supports ākonga learning.
Current or recent secondary kaiako tutor secondary student teachers online in their specialist subject area. Tutorials are delivered monthly, usually from 4pm onwards, and involve three 90-minute sessions per subject plus 90 minutes of preparation time.
Work depends on enrolments and cover the subject from junior through senior school.
Current or recent primary or secondary kaiako support school partnerships for ākonga across Aotearoa New Zealand. The remote-working RPC role builds and maintains school relationships, supports mentor teachers and ākonga, and varies in workload depending on timing of enrolment intakes and individual capacity.
Experienced primary or secondary kaiako provide partner school and enrolment support during practicum placements. This mahi includes online and in-person contact, initial and midway phone check-ins, an end-of-practicum visit, triadic discussion with the Associate Teacher, and feedback to Course Leaders as needed.

This is a part-time, offsite contracted role. Training on Open Polytechnic expectations and access to online tools will be provided. Fees are competitive and reflect the skills and knowledge required.
