As an Investment Analyst in the Asset Allocation team, you will support the design, monitoring, and implementation of portfolio positions across strategic and tactical asset allocation. This role helps turn market insight, quantitative analysis, and portfolio research into disciplined, evidence-based investment decisions for customer portfolios. Reporting to the Head of Asset Allocation and working closely with senior investment team members, you will contribute to the development of asset allocation views, portfolio analytics, investment insights, and governance materials aligned with the fund’s objectives, risk settings, and investment beliefs.

As an Investment Analyst, you will:
Conduct macroeconomic, market, and asset class research to support investment views, thematic work, and portfolio decision-making.
Identify, evaluate, and monitor tactical asset allocation opportunities by analyzing market conditions, valuations, fundamentals, positioning, and behavioural drivers.
Contribute analysis and data inputs to long-term portfolio design work, including capital market assumptions, scenario analysis, and portfolio construction exercises.
Monitor market developments, emerging risks, and investment opportunities to support proactive idea generation and timely portfolio discussion.
Develop, maintain, and enhance investment models, analytical tools, dashboards, and reporting used for portfolio analysis, risk monitoring, and decision support.
Prepare clear investment reporting, presentations, and briefing materials that communicate the team’s views to internal stakeholders.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Sound understanding of financial markets, asset classes, macroeconomic drivers, and the key contributors to investment performance.
Strong Excel and financial modelling capability, with confidence working with large and complex data sets; experience with tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Power BI, Python, or R would be an advantage.
Ability to interpret performance outcomes, risk exposures, valuations, and market developments to support investment insights and portfolio discussions.
Experience supporting investment research, portfolio analytics, asset allocation, economics, consulting, or reporting within a financial markets or investment management environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly, succinctly, and with sound judgement.
Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the confidence to question assumptions constructively in a collaborative team environment.
