An opportunity for an experienced Food Technologist to join a Leading NZ manufacturer of Dietary Supplements

An exciting opportunity has become available for a food technologist, work in our R&D department for formulation drafting, regulation checking, sampling and new product development. This is a hands-on role, focusing on the development and redevelopment of products within the relevant regulatory framework. The business is fast-growing and we anticipate this could be a more practical and valuable opportunity for the right candidate.
· Undertaking research and development of new and existing products and processes to enable the company to meet its marketing and production objectives. Redevelopment of current formulations to meet continuous improvement initiatives.
· Drafting regulatory compliant formulas and product specifications for customers, across mainly China and NZ markets
· Collaborate with QA and operation departments to issue and review specifications for raw material, mid-products and finished products.
· Validating the feasibility of products under different production conditions by conducting research, experiment and sample trials.
· Prepare product samples and arrange internal trials and external testing in terms of flavor, texture, and nutritional value optimization.
· Provide internal and external technical support in relation to product development, purchasing teams, quality assurance, sales and production department.
· Analysis of nutritional profile throughout the production process to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
This is a high energy, multi-tasking role, which requires the ability to communicate across all levels of the business, internally and externally. You must have a good eye for detail, be a good team player and a problem solver. As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following attributes:
Skills
· Science degree qualification (Food Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, or Food Processing Engineering)
· Ideally 1+ years of Experience in a Product Development, technical or research role in food/dairy/dietary supplement industry, coupled with Nutritional knowledge
· Knowledge in Oceania/Asia/ SEA Food safety and Functional Food regulation
· Basic knowledge in operating manufacturing specific machines and devices is highly preferred
· Basic skills in lab equipment using and knowledge of sensory testing is preferred
· knowledge and understanding of RMP, GMP, HACCP systems would be great advantage.
