About the Role

PNKS Trading Company is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Checkout Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the store.Checkout Operator

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer purchases accurately.
• Scan, weigh, and record goods, ensuring correct pricing and quantities.
• Receive payments by cash, EFTPOS, credit card, gift card, and other approved payment methods.
• Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and credits in accordance with company policies.
• Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily sales transactions at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Assist customers with inquiries regarding products, prices, promotions, and store services.
• Pack purchased goods and provide courteous customer service at all times.
• Monitor checkout areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and adequate stock of bags and supplies.
• Verify customer age when selling restricted products and comply with relevant legal requirements.
• Report pricing discrepancies, equipment faults, customer complaints, or suspected theft to management.
• Assist with stocking shelves, displaying merchandise, and general retail duties when required.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.

Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour
